Bulldogs Closely Matched with NCAA Northeast Regional Opponents

Comments
The 2014 NCAA DI Northeast Regional Championships will take place this Friday. After resting their legs for a week, Yale cross country s top pack of runners will again travel to the Bronx, N.Y. to compete at Van Cortlandt Park. Two weekends prior, the team proved it has reached a new level when it placed sixth at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships—a significant improvement over its finish in 2013. This week, the Bulldogs look forward to improving on their 13th-place finish at Regionals last year. Though currently ranked No. 10 in the region, the team has earned a ranking as high as No. 7 this season. Its closest competitors are Ivy League teams No. 9 Harvard, No. 8 Cornell and No. 7 Columbia. These rankings reflect the order the teams finished in at Heps—the difference between Yale and Columbia was only 35 points, with Harvard and Cornell even closer in reach.
